The Preferred Search Option

Dunhill Professional Search of Houston offers
you the Preferred Search Option.

Dunhill's Preferred Search™ Option

As market possibilities and business realities continue their transformation throughout the world, corporate decision-makers will face increasingly complex hiring challenges. The need for "right-sizing" in every organization has placed the corporate executive in a competitive position where only the best hiring decisions will do.

Until recently, managers have had only two major options available to them in surfacing and hiring the most talented candidates: retained or contingent search. Both methods make critical contributions to the recruiting and hiring process; both have their limitations.

Recognizing the need for an alternative, Dunhill Professional Search has collaborated with a select group of client firms to develop a third option:  Dunhill's Preferred Search.

Dunhill's Preferred Search offers corporate executives and managers an innovative con-figuration of services which combines the committed focus of retained search with the more afford-able financial exposure of contingent search.A true hybrid, Dunhill's Preferred Search is thus more cost-effective and efficient when compared with traditional retained search, while offering a sense of committed focus and exclusivity not usually found in a contingent arrangement.

What is Dunhill's Preferred Search?

Each Dunhill Preferred Search is tailored specifically to your recruiting needs as they relate to market realities. The services available under the Preferred Search configuration offer the following:

  • Selection from the "pick of the nation" through Dunhill's national candidate exchange network.
  • Expert input on effective recruiting and hiring strategies.

Dunhill's Preferred Search is the ideal method for attacking the following hiring challenges:

  • A multiple-hiring 'emergency'.
  • A highly-specialized (and/or scarce) skill requirement.
  • A need-to-fill-now priority position.
  • A position that falls outside normal corporate hiring expertise or experience.
  • An international position.

Via Dunhill's unique network of highly-trained specialists in over 120 offices throughout North America, your Dunhill Consultant can access literally thousands of the most highly-qualified professionals in most industries and disciplines, including:Financial and Administrative Services

  • Sales and Marketing
  • Technical, Manufacturing and Engineering
  • Information Systems and Technology
  • International Business
  • E-Commerce

Dunhill's Preferred Search consists of three stages:

In the Task and Target Definition Stage, your Dunhill consultant forms a profile of your organization's background, management philosophy, selling points and requirements. A detailed description of the position and of the target candidate's talent and expertise is developed. Based on this information, a Preferred Search Agreement is prepared for review and your approval.

During the Recruiting and Qualifying Stage, your Dunhill Consultant uses a variety of proven methods to identify, surface, pre-qualify and reference appropriate candidates for the hiring need.  Each potential candidate is interviewed in depth by the Dunhill consultant, and then the semi-finalists are presented for your interviews.

In the Selection and Negotiating Stage, your Dunhill specialist assists you in interview preparation and debrief, provides input on the relocation process, acts as your intermediary in the offer process, and counsels the successful candidate on resignation.  Your Dunhill Consultant's involvement in this stage continues until the candidate you have selected is comfortably situated in the new position.

The Dunhill Preferred Search Investment

Typically, the Preferred Search investment is the same as a contingent search, except that the first third of the fee is paid and non-refundable upon commencement of the search, with the balance due only upon successful search completion.

Out-of-pocket expenses involving travel, special testing and background checks incurred in conducting the search are also typically billed.  In all cases major expenditures are cleared with the client first.

The Dunhill Difference
